Dandelion- Super Herb!

Updated: Aug 2, 2019

Dandelion (root and leaves) have been used for centuries as a tonic for the liver, kidneys, spleen, and gallbladder, and is still widely used today. Dandelion uses: increase appetite, relieve upset stomach and intestinal gas, may help with gallstones, increases urine production, can be used as a mild laxative, helps increase bowel movements, decreases swelling, reduce water weight/ diuretic, increases bile flow. How?? Dandelion is FULL of beneficial components such as inulin, leutin, fatty acids, vitamins A, (some) B's, C, D, iron, potassium, zinc, flavinoids, pectin and more. Dandelion is a good digestive tonic because of the amount of inulin (source of fibre) and fatty acids which help push waste out of the body, along with pectin which binds metal ions to rid the body of heavy metals. Potentially it could be good for eye health because of the leutin, vitamin A and fatty acids. Because of dandelions detoxifying abilities, dandelion can help with skin health-- you can tell a persons health from their skin. when your insides are healthy, your outsides are healthy!! You can make dandelion as a tea, tincture or even eat it in salads, etc! If you are allergic to ragweed, dandelion is not your friend!
